• BitTorrent

• Torrent

Torrent is a small file which contains information about the data you want to download.


• Peer

A peer is another computer on the internet that is sharing the file you wish to download. Typically a peer
does not have the complete file.


• Seed

A computer that has a complete copy of the file you are downloading.


• Availability

A indication of the numbers of complete copies that are availible to you. If the number is less than 1 you
may not be able to download the complete file.


• Tracker

The server that coordinates all the BitTorrent Clients. Upon opening a torrent, you contact the tracker and receive a list of peers to connect to.


• DRM

DRM stands for Digital Rights Management. It is an common name for a number of methods to control
access and distribution of digital media.


• Revenue

The income you will receive for sharing one full copy of the movie.


• BitTorrent client

A BitTorrent client is the software you use to download files using the BitTorrent protocol.
